November 2022 New and Full Moon: Lunar Eclipse in Taurus and New Moon in Sagittarius



With our last eclipse for November 2022 comes a lunar eclipse in Taurus and a positive new moon in Sagittarius!

What is a New Moon?

A new moon occurs when the transiting (moving) Sun and Moon are in the same position in the zodiac (called a conjunction). The new moon is associated with the beginning, has high energy and is enthusiastic.

Our final eclipse for 2022 comes to us in November in the form of a lunar eclipse in Taurus. This is the second in this eclipse set because about a year ago we had a lunar eclipse in Taurus, so we can continue with this eclipse some of the themes from about a year ago.

New Moon in Sagittarius: November 23, 2022 (5:58PM ET/2:58PM PT)

The new moon comes to us in November in an excited Sagittarius, and it’s usually a very positive new moon. We are overly optimistic, want to focus on the good, and we can have a positive outlook on life.

Sagittarius are big thinkers, so we can come up with big ideas, big plans, and see the big picture. We can see what is possible, and believe that it is indeed possible.

We’re thinking about the big and bright that we can talk big, but sometimes we don’t back it up with action, so we have to keep that in mind. Actions speak louder than words!

There is great Sagittarius energy with this new moon as Venus enters Sagittarius 7 days earlier, Mercury enters Sagittarius 6 days earlier, Sun enters Sagittarius a day earlier, and Jupiter’s natural ruler of Sagittarius is the same. The day ends its retrograde as the new moon (4 minutes later!)
