Witch Tips and Horoscope 8/17-23 — The Hoodwich
Astrology by Lisa Stardust
Venus in Leo and retrograde Jupiter in Aries reconcile on August 18, bringing positive energy in the beginning of the week. The last quarter moon in Taurus, on August 19th, prompts us to let go of old feelings and freshen up our hearts. Mars enters Gemini on August 20th, which adds vigor and enthusiasm to our words. Mercury in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces on August 21st, confusing feelings and exacerbating paranoia. The Sun enters Virgo on August 22, expanding our intelligence, analytical skill set and better communication. On the same day, Mercury and Pluto retrograde in Capricorn unite, allowing us to focus on matters.
Witch Tip: Moon in Taurus in the last quarter of August 19 is a great time to test yourself by implementing self-care into your daily routine. Take a bath with rose petals, cinnamon sticks and Epsom salts or meditate for a few minutes to decompress. As long as you prioritize your needs now, you will be in greater harmony with your heart, mind, body, and universe.
By focusing on your breaks and noticing the tension in your shoulders, take care to let go of any tension you carry. Problems can appear bigger than they used to be. Remember, if it helps to deflect your emotional state from traditional structures, it’s okay to deviate from the script.
Try not to criticize others or yourself too much right now. Avoid giving any unsolicited advice to others. Your inner-perfectionist may not come out in the best way this week, so remember to take things slow and focus on your breath if you start to feel overwhelmed by the details.
You are moving at full speed. This can mean that you are fast-moving through a lot of situations and relationships, allowing you to shed light on facts or matters. Haste does not mean waste. Take the time to read between the thin bipartisan lines to avoid misunderstandings later.
Chasing a wild goose to keep up with your errands and schedule can be exhausting. Give yourself time to decompress to understand your limits before consuming more than you can chew in the coming days. Try to move slowly and stop to smell the roses.
Lighten your emotional load, Leo. Let go of the resentment you’ve been holding for years by putting good memories in your heart and soul this week. The kinder you are to yourself – the better you will be to others (and vice versa). Keep this in mind now.
Sometimes you can be controlling to some extent. As you’re starting to discover this week, it’s nearly impossible to play Puppet Master all the time—especially when it comes to the feelings of others. Choose your battles wisely and put energy into improving your circumstances.
If you feel like you are being deliberately gaslighted or left in the dark – the truth is you are. However, you can escalate and change the situation by not giving any energy and life to the negativity. Focus on positive things to keep a spirited outlook this week.
We all have made mistakes in the past. But, this does not mean that we should let these failures stand in the way of achieving happiness or joy in the present and future. Know your limits and try to move forward. It is impossible to have all the answers, however, so you can pursue matters.
Looking at life from a broader perspective, you are holding back from handling important professional matters. Be clear about what you want to accomplish at the moment to achieve your goals. The more specific you are—the easier and better it is to reach your endgame.
You could not speak from your heart and express your truth. Before you choose to hold onto your feelings for another week, try to get to know your feelings. Send an email if you feel uncomfortable in a face-to-face confrontation. Be honest with yourself and others right now.
Jumping into a financial situation or venture is scary for most. Give yourself some time to weigh the risks of investing before betting on a higher priced stock. Understand the ups and downs of what you can expect to make sure you don’t get disappointed with your expectations.
Emotions can be complex and stressful – especially when it comes to understanding your role and the dynamics surrounding a group of people. The best way to navigate your feelings is to take a step back and understand your role in the group. Then, you can open completely.
