Layers of Ego in Vedic Astrology: Part 1 – Mars

The ego represents a deeper level of our identity and existence. Often the ego becomes distorted and out of balance and this keeps us from facing the harsh reality of who we are. On a deeper level, it blocks our divine identity, so it is one of the biggest barriers to enlightenment. It keeps on deceiving us and keeps us in delusions. It is important to be something and have an identity, but at some point, we have to let go of all those false bonds of identity that prevent us from understanding our divine nature.

When we think of ego, we usually associate it with a “big ego” or someone who is arrogant or arrogant. But arrogance can also be associated with low self-esteem and “not good enough” energy or shy people.

Let’s start with the zodiac:

The planets are either afflicted or in rare cases, they are rather pure and can bring forth their highest ideal values. For the most part, there are usually some aspects, some placements in the D9 chart, some nakshatra placements causing some doshas or distortions and for the most part, we will be discussing the more afflicted versions of Mars by the sign.

Mars in Aries: When unaffected, the ego of Mars gets bogged down in achievement, work, and independence. Their sense of self is very much linked to their creativity and how much they achieve and so here the ego is very much stuck in the doership.
