Kumbh Purnima: Clearing the Air

M

y friend Alice called me late one Friday afternoon. “I thought you’d be on your way to happy hour,” I said; It was her usual ritual to go out for drinks with her coworkers on Fridays after work. “No,” she said. “Ramona will be there.” Alice and Ramona were once close friends, but the relationship soured when they became rivals for a coveted sales position at their company. In a twist that proved accidental for Ramona, Alice is reprimanded (falsely, she insisted) for making a costly mistake. The sale position went to Ramona. Alice strongly suspected that her rival had underestimated her, but ultimately decided to let go of what had passed.

“I thought you’d sort everything out,” I said.

“I thought I had too. But lately, every time I look at her, all I can think about is, ‘It’s too bad I have to work with her everyday, I’m with her. I won’t even drink alcohol!'”

August 11, 2022 full moon (6:36 pm PDT) is in Aquarius, A sign that represents casual friendship and group affiliation based on shared interests. We shake the Aquarius hand when we go out for drinks with coworkers on Friday nights, serve on the board of our local astrological organization, or bake cookies for a fundraiser. Some of us are “group” people – Aquarius by nature – and some of us are less. But only a few of us can escape the trap of sociability altogether.

The full moon in Aquarius falls at the height of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, and it’s usually the time of year when we celebrate simple, sociable relationships with others—a neighborhood cook, an afternoon at the beach, or yes Work with happy hour, guys. But it is associated with the full moon chart Mars planetThe planet of competition, war and aggression; saturn, the master of restraint and limits; And Uranus, one who seeks freedom and independence. Desperation has been building up since the Leo New Moon, which is unstable in conjunction with Mars, Uranus and the Moon’s North Node on July 31-August 1. So in order to do what is necessary to maintain a vibrant and satisfying social relationship, we have to give alms to many depressed planets as well.

group conflict

I

In recent weeks, perhaps you’ve found yourself embroiled in some nasty social media controversies, testy interchanges with coworkers or customers, or — like Alice — some old rage lurking deep in a dark corner of your mental sock drawer. Have got. The embers of ancient disputes often re-ignite in the time of Mars, and the resulting explosions emit harmful fumes. Mars has recently taken over a group to which you belong, stirring a bubbling cauldron of harsh language and bitter rivalry; Even if you manage to rise above the ground and call for a ceasefire, you may find yourself in hot water.

But in-group fighting doesn’t mean the end of valuable alliances. From time to time, all groups need to clean the air. build up of tension; Misunderstandings drift down the rug; Outrage erupts. Just because traditionally “Aquarian” relationships are optional, it doesn’t mean they aren’t important, or sometimes not worth the effort of working through a rough patch. This is the full moon to reopen old businesses, settle some accounts and close the books of enmity forever. But doing it well requires that we harness the best qualities of Mars: courage and a commitment to a fair fight.

TeaHe also joins the Sun and Moon Saturn and Uranus on this full moon, Mars increases the frustration factor and provides fertile ground for excessive reactions. Part of Fighting Fair is to understand that some things are not to be taken personally (a tall order when the Sun is moving through Leo), and this can simply mean that both sides of life are not involved in the other. areas are under pressure.

Aquarius celebrates collectivism, and on this full moon we celebrate relationships with our like-minded compatriots. But it won’t be an easy, simple joyous time, or a Saturday afternoon barbecue won’t be sunny and friendly. To achieve goodwill, productivity and fraternity, We first need to clean up the dark corners of these relationships. and resolve any conflicts that prevent us from working together as a strong, cohesive group. When a group is strong on the inside, it can achieve broader goals from the outside – so be brave, clear the air and fight fairly.
