Next week’s Mars/Uranus/Node conjunction: how bad is it?
Artist unknown?
TLDR*: Next week will be a challenging one, but don’t expect the end of the world.
Many people have asked me about the upcoming dramatic conjunction of Mars, Uranus and the Nodes. The exact date of this alignment is August 1, and the Mars/Uranus conjunction will occur at exactly 7:42 EDT. A client sent me this article from the Vedic astrologer Joni Petrie, who wrote: “This is a very important month of huge, sudden and explosive events that will bring tremendous change. Astro-historical patterns strongly suggest that it is not only A modern civil war could culminate in America rather than all over the world. I know I see it a lot in the United States, but it will be repeated all over the world.”
It is a bit difficult to comment on Ms. Patri’s article because she uses the Vedic sidereal system in which the planets are assumed to be at their actual positions in the sky. I, and most other modern astrologers, use the tropical system where the 0 degree point of the cardinal signs is at the solstices and equinoxes. Her system is having a triple conjunction in Aries, the fire sign that is ruled by Mars and therefore can be somewhat explosive. In the tropical system, the conjunction occurs in Taurus which is much quieter and while less explosive, the changes that occur under the Mars/Uranus conjunction in Taurus can be slow to develop and long-lasting.
The debate between sidereal and tropical systems has been going on for hundreds of years and I am not interested in entering that particular fray today! It has been my experience that the tropical system tends to be more accurate in individual readings. But still, I want to address the idea that the upcoming triple conjunction will make July a very important month of very important, sudden and explosive events that will bring tremendous change. Astro-historical patterns strongly suggest that this may have resulted in a modern civil war not only in America but throughout the world.
I would argue that this is already well underway, and since the Saturn/Pluto conjunction of January 2020 and other astrological events of 2020 (suppression), the Saturn/Uranus square (revolution) of 2021 and the end of Pluto has accelerated. In Capricorn (collapse of leadership structures),
Ms Petrie argued that the last time a triple conjunction in the sidereal zodiac occurred was in May 1855 when elections between pro-slavery and anti-slavery factions in Kansas created tensions in the lead-up to the Civil War. However, the feud was one of many in the 15 years before the war.
Mars is a fast moving planet and its sight on other planets usually lasts for few days. While it is true that it can activate a larger chakra, or reactivate a dormant chakra, it usually does not generate the kind of planetary energy by itself that can bring about major wars and social change. Is.
That said, as you’ll read in next Monday’s forecast, Mars’ alignment with Uranus will begin to tighten on Monday with the exact aspect occurring next Monday, Aug. Mars in Taurus is fiery but stubborn, and will trigger the reactivity of Uranus to provoke rebellion and resistance to obligation and conformity. I see the presence of the North Node in this conjunction as a positive factor – the South Node will often hold us back and bring about old habit patterns that prevent us from growing, but the North Node guides us gently toward the highest expression of personality. does. Under this influence you can gain the confidence to make a long-needed change, and it would be a good idea to be open to thoughts that are shaking up the current status quo.
The viewing day is Friday July 29 when the Leo New Moon closes the triple conjunction of Mars, Uranus and the North Node. A T-square to triple conjunction from Mercury and Saturn is embedded in that New Moon chart (you’ll read more about that next week) and there will be some resistance to all this liberating energy that can be problematic. It doesn’t help that all these planets are in fixed signs that resist change and stay stuck until some sort of explosion breaks the blocked energy to bring about a sustainable development.
If like me your planets are between 15-22 degrees from the fixed signs (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio) then you will be particularly affected by this. The best way to navigate things like this is to be open to change and keep an open mind. Trust that the North Node will lead you to optimal luck.
*TLDR = not read too long
