Astrological news this week: Leo season begins!

Astrological Updates for the week of July 18-25, 2022

Chiron turns retrograde, Chiron is unlike any other planetary body in the Solar System, having the volume and size of a planet with the tail of a comet. Circled between the individual planets, Saturn, and the outer transiting planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, it serves as a bridge between the personal and the reciprocal. By encouraging the healing of the soul’s wounds of this and previous incarnations, Chiron facilitates the growth and development of the soul as well as the personality.

When a planet becomes retrograde it appears to be stationary in the sky, and this can intensify the experience of anyone whose birth chart is being activated by that planet. Chiron has traveled only one degree in the past two months, and it will take another two months to retreat one degree. If the planets are between 12 to 18 degrees (Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn) in your own birth chart, this can present emotional challenges as undigested feelings and drama begin to release. If you have planets in those degrees of fire (Leo, Aries, Sagittarius), this process of healing and liberation will be just as important, but since it is a harmonious triple aspect, release will come more easily.

This week both Sun and Mercury are entering Leo, Leo is the sign of the Sun – under its auspices we receive the warmth and vitality of its light and warmth, and we learn to identify fully with the spirit that has been given to us for this lifetime. Leo is the ruler of the Sun, and personifies the need to fully express ourselves according to the sign under which we are born. Under the influence of Leo our souls are warmed by the Sun and it becomes easier to allow joy in our lives if we are people who are doubtful or damaged in some way.

Every astrological factor has a dark side as well as a light side, and the dark side of Leo can be narcissism with a touch of pride and arrogance. Often these negative traits obscure a wounded personality that craves the authentic expression of Leo’s joy and happiness. Both the Sun and Mercury are entering Leo this week, these energies affecting our lives for a while, even though

Leo is present in our own birth chart. With both the Sun and Mercury, Ceres, the planet of nourishment, we would like to be especially mindful of the body’s needs for nourishment, movement, and equipment to calm the mind.

Pluto is highlighted, The transiting planet Pluto is triggered by Mercury on Monday, July 18, shortly followed by the Sun and Ceres (see below). Pluto’s power may be somewhat relentless in its campaign to destroy the liars and empower the truth, and we can expect some harsh words for the first few days of the week, especially when the moon is on Monday at 7:17. Enters fiery Aries at EDT.

The Sun opposes Pluto on Tuesday, July 19, continuing the need to uncover whatever isn’t working so it can be transformed. The Aries Moon also connects with Chiron on that day, so it can be a bit challenging emotionally.

Then on Wednesday morning the Aries Moon moves this Sun/Pluto dynamic for one final exciting fiery drama. This combination can be very exciting! It can help us find inspiration where there was none before. But if the relationship is out of balance, it will become quite apparent under this dynamic.

the rest of the week:

By Wednesday afternoon EDT (July 20), energies will begin to settle. Moon enters Taurus where we seek peace and comfort.

The Moon enters Gemini early on Friday, July 23 EDT to encourage communication of all kinds, and a harmonious trine from Mercury to Jupiter helps to calm the mind and encourage positivity. By then the Sun will be in Leo and Ceres will also enter Leo on that day. The remaining part of the week is extremely rewarding with opportunities to find emotional and mental balance. My only caveat is that on weekends we’ll need to watch an overzealous social calendar which could throw that balance off (Venus square Jupiter, lunar square Neptune).

The Moon will enter Cancer on Sunday afternoon EDT and will bring our attention back to our emotions and the mood of our inner world for a few days.

A heads up for next Monday: A challenging square from Mercury to Pluto in Leo can bring some difficulty in communication and potentially some arguments. forewarned is forearmed!

I hope you have a great week! ️G reading and writing by Lynn Hayes.
