July 2022 New and Full Moon: Full Moon in Capricorn and New Moon in Leo



July 2022 coincides with the full moon in the disciplined Capricorn and the new moon in the creative Leo. What will they bring to us?

What is a New Moon?

A new moon occurs when the transiting (moving) Sun and Moon are in the same position in the zodiac (called a conjunction). The new moon is associated with the beginning, has high energy and is enthusiastic.

What is a full moon?

A full moon occurs when the transiting (moving) Sun and Moon are in exactly opposite positions in the zodiac (called opposition). The full moons are related to the end, the culmination, and are emotional energy.

Capricorn is the highest part of the zodiac, so it corresponds to our goals, progress and success. Purnima is the result of our work, so Makar Purnima means that we can see the results we have made to progress and achieve success with our goals. Some can scale new heights, touch your progress, gain recognition and feel that you are on the right track. Others may experience setbacks, setbacks, and have to change course.

We may have additional responsibilities with this full moon, and we have to work on managing it in a healthy way. It can be easy to take on too much, and then we get overwhelmed and break down. Or, it can be easy to avoid taking responsibilities too seriously, and then things fall apart. We need to find that happy middle.

We can focus on the direction we are headed and how we are going to get to where we eventually want to be. This can be a good time to let go and let go of the things that are holding us back or, if possible, that may be standing in the way of our achievement. If that’s not possible, we can work to find a way out, and to manage that as best we can.

Leo Amavasya is a great time for fun, joy and warm relationships. Leo is a sign that doesn’t want to get serious, and this could be a good break coming from the Capricorn full moon. We can take time out for our hobbies, for our loved ones, and for connecting with our hearts. Have fun and make time for fun, because that’s important too.

Leo is a creative sign, so we can work on new creative projects and ventures, and we can draw attention to our creative work. We can infuse creativity into the mundane, and this can help us stay focused, otherwise completely lacking in focus.

This can be a good time for romance, and those who are single and have more time to play on the field and have fun without worrying too much about the consequences can bring back the spark in a relationship.

The new moon is widely trine (positive aspect, 4 signs away) transiting (moving) Jupiter in Aries as Jupiter turns retrograde on the same day (appears to be moving backward), and widely with Ceres in Leo is conjugated (aligned). Jupiter retrograde can slow down opportunities and give us a chance to focus on old stuff and karmic mud that needs to be worked on, so we can use this Leo new moon to do the same with love issues Huh. Any heart block can be dealt with, and we may have an easier time doing so with Trine to Jupiter.

The conjunction with Ceres can make us more nurturing and supportive, and so can we be with others and with ourselves. We can take care of what our hearts need, and we can be more affectionate, loyal, and generous.

Mercury has entered its shadow zone on the 25th of Virgo – to look back and complete our transformation into Libra and Virgo
