Astrological news this week: Cancer new moon and watery areas under Neptune station

Neptune is retrograde this week. Like all the outer planets, Neptune appears to travel retrograde for about half a year, so it’s not a big story in itself unless you’re under its influence yourself. However, Neptune is associated with the spread of virus and disease, and the last three Neptune stations (change of direction) coincide with a new version that has taken the COVID-19 virus in a new direction. Both the alpha and beta Neptune stations (SD) erupted a week after November 28, 2020. Delta was named on June 25, 2021, a week after Neptune Station (SR). And Omicron emerged a week before the Neptune station (SD). December 1, 2021.

I’ve been watching the news to see if this pattern will continue, and so far it’s just the Omicron version of itself turning into several different subtypes. This may suggest that the COVID-19 virus itself is weakening, which would be great news. Hope this continues.

In any event, Neptune is a slow-moving planet, and when it makes a “station” before changing direction it can stay at the same degree for a long time (Neptune lasts more than a degree in the past three months). not moved) which makes it especially powerful for planets between 20 and 29 degrees (Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo, Gemini) that are currently being affected by the transit of Neptune.

This new moon chart includes a strong square aspect to Jupiter in fiery Aries, exacerbating impulses of need and desire, which need to be balanced against Cancer in order to fit into the tribal unit. A combination from the Black Moon Lilith (the initial rage against oppression) to the new moon could be interesting, especially in light of recent Supreme Court rulings. Also, Mars in its Aries joins the new planet Eris which indicates a certain amount of disruption. While Venus is in an awkward aspect to the (related) new moon and relationships can be challenged by a lack of easy communication, a harmonious aspect from Jupiter to Venus will help grace all our interactions with a sense of bountiful support.

Each new moon is the beginning of a new phase of experience and an opportunity to make new intentions. The question under this Cancer new moon is how to strengthen our own resolve and more authentically occupy our own space (Mars and Jupiter in Aries) while still having the comfort of integration into our families and communities. Are getting. The word “family” itself is super-charged for many of us so I like to think of it as a tribe. Who are my people, and how can I join this tribe while maintaining my individuality – that is the question raised by this new moon.

Mars square Pluto, I like to think of Pluto as a higher octave planet to Mars. Mars represents our personal will, and I regard Pluto as the will of the Higher Self. Mars is desire, and Pluto paves the way for personal growth and ultimate empowerment. But Mars is very wishful by its nature, especially when it travels in Aries which it rules over. It is not easily subjected to a fate that does not support our individual desires. Challenging aspects between Mars and Pluto can result in power struggles and there is a risk of violence if those power struggles escalate. The exact square from Mars to Pluto in Aries occurs late in the evening EDT on July 1, but will be in effect for most of the week.

Everyone’s emotions increase under the influence of Cancer Amavasya. Cancer is highly emotional and brings up feelings that can sometimes be overlooked, and strong Mars influence can turn emotions into anger very quickly. (It is useful to note that beneath anger we often find deep sadness.) This will not be the best week to engage in difficult conversations that can easily trigger a burst of emotion without easy remedies, though the above That good aspect from Venus to Jupiter as described will help soften most of our conversations.

I know it sounds daunting, but these powerful planetary dynamics can enrich our human experience and bring profound wisdom. The new moon in Cancer in particular can awaken a new level of emotional intelligence and start a new cycle of emotional freedom.
