White Lotus Day 2022 – Celebrating the life of HP Blavatsky
by Robert Wilkinson
Today is White Lotus Day, a very important global spiritual celebration of the year. This day commemorates the death of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, one of the supreme beings of all time. This remarkable accomplished checked in on May 8, 1891, and we are all deeply indebted to him indeed.
As I told you many years ago to this day, H.P. Blavatsky, also known as “HPB”, was a remarkable figure, considered the Masters of the Wisdom to be the only European body that established the Corps in the 19th century. It was worthwhile to proceed to offer. of Eastern wisdom to the Western world. He blew the gates of Western materialistic religion and science through his two masterpieces, Isis Unveiled And secret doctrine.
This world-travelling master founded the Theosophical Society, an organization formed in 1875 to advance spiritual principles and search for truth known as “Theosophy”. This is evidenced by “there is no religion greater than truth,” and the HPB stated that the purpose of the society was to:
1. To create a center of universal brotherhood of humanity without distinction of caste, creed, sex, caste or colour.
2. To encourage the study of comparative religion, philosophy and science.
3. To examine the vague laws of nature and the hidden powers in man.
Although the Theosophical Society in America (TS) has for the most part fallen into a hazy shadow of all that HPB stands for, the seeds it has set on a global scale are still thriving today. At the core of all existing “New Age” theories and teachings is at least one element known as “theosophy”, although some are far below and layered with egoistic fantasies.
That’s why today we have gathered to celebrate the death day of one of the most remarkable spiritual person globally. As well as being loved and hated in extraordinary ways when she was alive, humanity still owes a great deal of gratitude for showing her the path from the unreal to the real, from darkness to light, and from death to immortality.
Why is May 8 called “White Lotus Day”? I thought Wikipedia gave a brief explanation, and therefore reproduce it here. I have put it in paragraph breaks for easier reading.
White Lotus Day is a celebration that encourages meditation on the allegory of the lotus. The lotus is born under the mud, grows through the water to attain the surface, and hence the wind and sunlight. This growth is identified with the life of man, who is born in the earth but longs to rise up into the air; represent his middle stage between the animals and the ultimate reality.
Lotus seeds have fully formed leaves (even before they germinate), which is a small size of what they will become. This flower is often present in Eastern religions, having significant influence in the Theosophical Movement.
lotus (gr.) a most occult plant, sacred in Egypt, India and elsewhere; It is said that “the child of the universe bears the likeness of his mother in his chest”. There was a time “when the world was a golden lotus” (Padma) allegory says. A great variety of these plants, from the majestic Indian lotus, to the marsh-lotus (bird’s foot trefoil) and the Grecian “dioscoridis”, are eaten in Crete and other islands. It is a species of nymph, which was first introduced from India to Egypt, in which it was not indigenous. See the text of Archaic Symbolism in Appendix VIII. “The Lotus as a Universal Symbol”. ,theosophical terminology by HPB)
White Lotus Day: In his will, the HPB suggested that his friends gather together on the anniversary of his passing (May 8, 1891) and read from Sir Edwin Arnold. light of asia and here it Bhagavad Gita, After a year Kamal grew unusually large. Therefore, May 8 became known as White Lotus Day.
One of the symbolic figures for the dual creative force in nature (matter and force on the physical plane) is Padma, the water lily of India. The lotus is the product of heat (fire) and water (vapor or ether); Fire stands out in every philosophical and religious system as a representation of the Deity Spirit, the active, male, parent principle; And to the ether, or spirit of matter, to the light of fire, the dormant female principle from which everything in this universe came out. Therefore, ether or water is the mother, and fire is the father.
Sir W. Jones (and the Archaic Botany before him) showed that lotus seeds contain—even before they germinate—fully formed leaves, the miniature size of a day, as full plants, they will become: Nature is thus giving us a sample of the preformation of its production … the seed of all phanerogamous plants having proper flowers in which an embryonic plantlet is formed. The lotus, or padma, moreover, is a very ancient and favorite simile for the universe and also for man.
The popular reasons given are, first of all, the fact that the lotus seed contains a perfect miniature of a future plant, which reflects the fact that the spiritual prototype of all things materialized on Earth. Secondly, the fact that the lotus plant grows through water, has its root in the ileus or mud, and its flowers spread upwards in the air. The lotus thus symbolizes the life of man and the universe; For the secret doctrine teaches that the elements of both are the same, and that both are developing in the same direction. A lotus root immersed in mud represents material life, a stalk passing over the water symbolizes existence in the astral world, and a flower floating on water and opening into the sky symbolizes spiritual being. ,secret doctrine I, 57-58.) theosophy, Volume. 89, Issue 4, May/June 2001 (pages 165-166)
So today, if you have . have a copy of Bhagavad Gita, asia light, Or just want to meditate on the sacred lotus, by all means spend some time experiencing the eternal. And of course, please remember to thank the man who laid down his life so that generations to come may keep alive the light of the love of knowledge for ages.
(And yes, that’s still my dream date!)
To read a little more about this remarkable woman for the ages, here are two articles celebrating her life and work. The first is a brief piece that provides something of a great sacred act that calls upon all of us at some point in our development throughout our lives, while the second is a comprehensive look at this great man and what he wrote and believed in. There is more information about
What is the secret doctrine, and who was the remarkable HPB, aka Helena Petrovna Blavatsky?
As I wrote in that article,
One of the impeccable source references to the invincible intelligence of our world is the “Secret Principle”. It is a masterwork translation of the first two into a set of ancient commentaries, which is beyond memory. The number of copies of the ancient commentaries, and where they were kept by the custodians of the world’s ancient knowledge, is unknown. Assigned over thousands of years, they explain the evolution of the universe, our solar system and Earth, and humanity.
HPB was only allowed to translate the first two volumes, as the Masters of Wisdom thought they had not prepared 19th-century humanity to fully understand what really happened here on planet Earth. Used to be. It seems that pandemic violence and ignorance are still rampant on our planet that they were right. A creature that comes to a lot of wisdom if they are not prepared to handle it wisely is not a good thing. It’s always better to master the basics so that our efforts don’t turn into a “sorcerer’s apprentice” of “Fantasia” fame.
This knowledge about our earthly and human evolution, handed down over thousands of years, is remarkable. To learn more about the venerable source document for Invincible Knowledge, secret doctrineHPB, and Masters, for your fresh observation,
