Excerpted from Patreon – For the week on end, on May 15, Ceres enters Cancer. Ceres is about motherhood and nurturing and Cancer is associated with childhood, home, family, roots and belonging so it is a mix of influences that work well together. Ceres is at ease with Cancer and is here at its most nurturing and protective. During this transit, Ceres tells us to take care of the family business, to take care of ourselves and our homes, to cherish our roots. However, as Ceres can also be associated with feast and famine, loss and gain, we may also be faced with a place where we don’t feel nurtured, cared for, or like ourselves. If family life has been difficult, we can feel more deeply the grief that occurs when we feel neglected or unloved. The shadow of Ceres in Cancer can also manifest as being overly protective. Ceres may be a smoothing mother. Imagine Ceres tying Persephone to the strings of her apron, and refusing to let her out if anything untoward happened (cue Pluto!) Ceres in Cancer might forbid us from growing up for fear of harm. Emotional immaturity and hyper-defensiveness can be issues that arise when unconscious material is not addressed. Ceres will remain in Cancer until 23 July 2022.

Mercury has entered its shadow zone on the 25th of Virgo – to look back and complete our transformation into Libra and Virgo
