Thoughts on Aries and Saturn in the twelfth house

Here is a chart of mine which has Saturn in Aries in 12th house.

It gives me a headache…

Headache is a relevant interpretation. Head is ruled by Aries, Saturn is often sore, Saturn in Aries gives me headache. literally or figuratively.

Metaphorically, a headache means a struggle with thinking. Thinking is usually associated with Gemini and Mercury. I won’t deny it, but the exciting difficulty of astrology is that it is never that simple.

Mars and Aries rule the head, and as far as I know, there is no thinking in the lungs. We often hear that Mercury rules the mind so how does it work with Mars and Aries?

Mercury connects. There is an expression: connecting the points. Mercury does just that.

The mind does a lot of connecting work, so much so that we end up with Mercury and the mind. In fact, all the planets are involved in everything.

So what is the quality of Aries or Mars mind? let me show you. In meditation we want to be mindful of who we are, basically, in our hearts. In meditation we are coming back to the point in the center of the circle – the inner Sun. Or at least we try. This requires some training because we have a tendency to run away from the center, as in the symbol of Mars, an arrow that runs away from the chakra. With Mars we go back to the front of our existence, to the front mind, and we’re already thinking about what we’re going to do next.

In “Astrology the Sacred Science” Joan Hodgson says that Mars (and coincidentally the Moon) rules the frontal mind. In this regard we can say that it takes our awareness away from the heart and we instead live in our heads – and nowhere in our heads but in the front. This can be a positive attribute, we need the presence of Mars on the physical plane, to face reality and function in the world.

Now let’s move to Saturn….

Saturn is a force that seeks control – and better than control, to be the master. In the twelfth house, one of the best ways to live Shani is through “spiritual discipline”.

Someone who practices meditation, yoga, Kyu Kung, fasting, prayer… doing something Shani -12th. Of course there are other possible expressions, but I’m not here to make a long list of positive and negative expressions that will never be complete. I suggest getting a sense of the placement…

As we have seen, Aries is an energy that leads. What leads us to consciousness is our attention. The old lord Shani in Aries and the twelfth house wants to be able to attract attention. Being able to concentrate, in the midst of a sea of desires and dreams…

Therefore Saturn in the 12th house in Aries wants to master this tendency of the mind to participate in worldly concerns by diverting our consciousness from the center.

One weird way to do this is trying to block views. This is a losing battle. Although we manage to suppress many thoughts, for example thoughts filled with anger – anger sounds like Aries –

When we suppress an angry thought, we are like the magician who seals the evil spirit in a bottle and throws it at the bottom of the ocean – the floor of the 12th house. Then later when we meditate it is difficult to calm the mind because if it becomes calm then we are like fisherman who finds the bottle and opens it. Just then a huge smoke of anger comes out of it and it is very unpleasant.

But unlike the fisherman of the Arabian Nights, who bottles the Bad Genie back, we need to understand and calm this anger, because it is ours, the child or the youth we were long ago…

And if we can do that, we’ve got a little bit of mastery…

Let’s think about these topics in another way…

Saturn wants to control. Aries wants speed.

In Aries, Saturn says: “Hurry up!”… or “Slow down!” According to the context. For example, in a chart with Taurus Rising, Saturn in Aries has a “hurry up!” more likely to say.

But being in 12th it can be felt as a deeply coming inner feeling. “I’m in a hurry! Why am I always in a hurry? Even when I could have taken it easy I still manage to be late and have to hurry!” …

Once I asked a native of Libra sign with Saturn in Aries but in 6th house… Do people tell you to hurry? She smiled and said “All the time!!!” – even if it’s in the sixth and not the seventh, it’s in the western part of the chart – so the others are more likely to get through…

Another picture comes to mind: the disruptive effect of the 12th house made me think of children, early, very quickly, before the next wave washes away the fortifications… it’s just a game, it’s fun but Aren’t we often living our lives racing against time to achieve things that don’t last?

Saturn’s presence reminds us that unless we remember the immortal beauty of our souls and the impermanence inherent in the core of life, our Aries-like efforts to remain young, strong and beautiful will always lead to a bitter existence. can build.

There is more to Shani, Aries and the twelfth house than I have been able to tell in this story, and much more… but this is what happened for this time. If there is taste, then there is soul.
