The Secret of the Masters Series: Fixing It

Vedic astrology requires years of study and some say that life span is a lot of details and exceptions and rules. When we learn Vedic astrology, we learn the basics, and then we have to go through and learn many more advanced rules.

I am preparing a series of courses starting 4 Juneth, to delve more deeply into the refinement of the material. People are in a hurry to consider something good or bad and so often nature gives us a thousand shades of gray and rarely we get black and white.

Here are some basic things that people miss. I am grateful to the tradition of Sanjay Rath and his teachers who have helped me learn more sophisticated aspects.

Rahu and Ketu Aspects:
  • Rahu has three aspects, but there is also a 30 degree aspect to the zodiac ahead of it. Hence Rahu transit actually takes 3 years of circumambulation and even though Rahu is currently in Aries, it is still affecting Taurus and whatever houses and planets are associated with it.
  • Ketu is considered to be headless and has no desire other than to gain knowledge and let it go. So in a natal chart (not square chart) it has no aspect, although its conjunctions are very important and a close trine to another planet can form a significant combination in a square chart. Hence, Ketu at 15 degree Scorpio and Mars at 15 degree Pisces will have a strong connection and influence in all class charts.
Charts and karma rotate through our lives and we are not our static natal chart:
  • Our natal chart is always rotating. It is what we bring but as we move around in different positions, the chart rotates and different effects and events take place. So even if some of your natal chart placements are difficult, when a new dasha period begins, the difficult placement can magically move to a better place. So, let’s say your Venus is 12. I am lowth House for growth in Libra. When you move into the Venus dasha, it moves into the first and while it can still cause health issues, it can bring more spirituality and pilgrimage and good luck as it is now the lord of 9th Dasha home from the position of God. Debilitated planets often have to work up to 3 times harder to manifest their positive energies – if they are positive.
Rashi Dasha is easy to predict the physical level of our life
  • There are about 20 rashi dashas or sign-based dashas with the most popular being the Narayan dasha and the Charan dasha. With Charan Dasha our life revolves clockwise or counterclockwise through the zodiac depending on our birth sign. As the chart rotates through various signals, difficult placements can suddenly turn out to be quite beneficial. For example, I am currently running an Aquarius and I have an exalted Saturn in the 12th of my birth.th house but in Aquarius, it is the lord of the horoscope and dasha lord in the ninth houseth home 5.   • Retrograde exalted sinners have more power to do harm and retrograde exalted beneficiary have more power to do good. Watch Saturn in retrograde now and see how much misery and mischief it creates for Cancer or Leo rising if it is a particularly bad planet for you.
Sign aspect or Rashi Drishti are very important karma which stays with us throughout our life.

Parashara spoke a lot about the aspects of Rashi Drishti or between the signs. All dual signs look upon each other, so Gemini/Sagittarius/Pisces and Virgo all have complete eyes on each other. Moving signs refer to fixed signs and vice versa a planet in Aries sees planets in Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. I cannot write a complete article on this but these aspects are not taught enough and they are more important than the transit aspects that most of you learn. Rashi aspects or sign aspects tend to have a more lasting impact on your entire life, while traditional transit aspects affect you the most when they repeat in transit.

For example, if you have Saturn in Aquarius and Mars in Taurus and Rahu in Gemini and are rising in Cancer, you have three harmful aspects to your rising sign and will cause health problems, but most astrologers Saturn will not be seen from the point of view of Cancer or Mars from Aquarius. Remember the sight of 30 degrees from Rahu from Taurus to Cancer or from Gemini to Cancer.

Mercury has entered its shadow zone on the 25th of Virgo – to look back and complete our transformation into Libra and Virgo
