Finding your hidden personality flaws and blind spots – Applied Vedic Astrology






Vedic astrology must answer these main questions:

  • why am i here?
  • Why am I suffering?
  • How can I get out of misery?
  • How can I live a better life?

Often it is by seeing and changing your hidden personality flaws but often they remain hidden out of sight. Planets mostly influence our thoughts and feelings and if we understand what is going on, we don’t need to buy into their energy. We can observe the formation of thoughts and catch negative tendencies before they appear.

Astrology was never intended to create fear in our hearts. Astrology means light and that light of knowledge free us from the hold of any dark thoughts and feelings. Hopefully, the articles in this book will help you break free of some of your patterns by analyzing how your mind and emotions are cluttered.

Astrology must reveal the puppet play that is pulling our emotions and psychology makes us realize that the planets are hard at work spinning their web of illusions. In fact, there can be nothing but a game of “smoke and mirrors”. When we recognize these “shadow” patterns, we have the opportunity to take responsibility and make positive changes in our lives when we use this newfound awareness. Paramahansa Yogananda said that what we call a spiritual battle is actually a psychological battle and once that battle is won, the spiritual battle becomes smaller.

I’ve used this technique for years to create a mental buffer because I know when the temporary shadow will pass. I still have to work on myself, but I can be kind to myself and not beat myself up as much. We should not fall prey to the stars. My friend and fellow astrologer, Juliana Swanson, noted that:

“When we wake up, we realize that we are multidimensional and that at any given moment, there are many possibilities. The limitless possibilities are seen in the fact that every astrological combination is good for something and bad for something and There is a higher, versus a lower manifestation, depending on the consciousness of the individual.”

Divinity and consciousness reside within us. The planets reside in that consciousness. When we decide to fall prey to the planets, we tend to overestimate our inherent greatness. My spiritual master is fond of saying that we should command the planets and not fall prey to them.

Those on the spiritual path will realize this wisdom because we are here to master all the elemental energies of the planets. If they are weak or afflicted in our chart, we have lessons to learn around them and we have to go to that school. If you were born with a weak Mars, you may not have learned the basics of service and courage. If you are born with a weak Venus, you will need to learn to have fun through dance, song and celebration and learn to do things together in relationships. If you are born with a weak Saturn, the goal may be to learn the value of hard work, being responsible, and being disciplined through spiritual practice. If your Sun is weak, you need to grow in leadership and confidence.

While I favor psychological insight in all of our work, we also have to realize that no amount of digging will ever get us through the soil. If you step into the lake early in the morning, when it is very calm and clear, you can see the bottom but once you pass under the mud, you stir the mud and it takes a lot of time to freeze Is.

Psychoanalysis is like that. It brings the past into the present moment and then the mud takes time to settle. Even if we combine a water filtration system with a lake, we may never get rid of all the sludge. “The mud is endless.” In how many births have we done Sanchit Karma? We need to be aware but not always swimming in the mud.

Mercury has entered its shadow zone on the 25th of Virgo – to look back and complete our transformation into Libra and Virgo
